Andersen Racing's Jorda Finishes 13th
In Edmonton Firestone Indy Lights Race Sunday

EDMONTON, Alberta, July 25
- Rare mechanical difficulties spoiled the run
of Andersen Racing's Carmen Jorda in the Edmonton 100 Firestone Indy Lights
race Sunday at Edmonton City Centre Airport here. The native of Alcoy, Spain
ended up 13th in the final rundown, completing six laps of the 50-lap race.

Jorda, who lives in Miami when she's in the United States, qualified 13th
but she was unable to get her car started at the beginning of the race due to
a clutch pedal issue. Numerous attempts at push-starts were futile. Finally
the Andersen Racing No. 4, which is sponsored by ASAP Sports, NTGS.es,
iHOLA!, Air Europa, pepetravel.com and Allied Building Products Corp., got
underway and Jorda joined the field on lap six.

She ran competitively when she was underway, turning a 1:10.6791 on her
fourth lap for an average speed of 100.494 miles per hour. Unfortunately two
laps later the car rolled to a stop on the straightaway after Turn 9 due to a
broken drive shaft. That brought out a full-course caution flag on lap 13
to allow course workers to tow Jorda's car back to the paddock.

Polesitter James Hinchcliffe led every lap to win the race over J.K. Vernay
and Martin Plowman.

Jorda and the rest of the Andersen Racing team will try again at the next
Firestone Indy Lights race Aug. 8 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in
Lexington, Ohio.

Andersen Racing's Star Mazda team will be in action next weekend for a
doubleheader at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Ill. The Cooper Tires
Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda series will hold a
doubleheader there too, showcasing the two steps that precede Firestone Indy
Lights on the Indy Racing League's Road to Indy ladder system.
